Here’s a project that Harrison worked on at school. Each kindergarden student was given a different animal found in or around Tomales Bay, CA. Harrison’s animal was a Flounder. The class did lots of activities related to the project, culminating with a field trip.
On the trip, two scientists explained to the children all about the local ecosystem, and then went out into the bay in a little boat and dropped a net. The children pulled the net up onto the beach and examined the contents. In the net they found a Bat Ray, a crab, several jellyfish, and a Flounder!
